A music video set in Singapore 60 years from now, Still Afloat speculates on an image of the city and the aspirations of a future populace. Using a combination of text prompts and AI -generated content, the work imagines scenes in which environmental and economic changes have transform the landscape and way of life of its inhabitants. Still Afloat plays with the tropes of resilience and aspiration, adopting the familiar, uplifting characteristics of anthemic pop music while its lyrics convey less-optimistic depictions of a world that appears both nostalgic and futuristic, real and fictional.
Launched in two phases, a visual storyboard and weblink to the music serve as a teaser to the final music video which will be launched in mid-2026 through a series of guerilla screenings.
